Held every other year, VALUEUSA's National Adult Learner Leadership Institute brings together participants from around the country:
- Adult learner leaders
- Adult learners who want to become leaders
- Adult literacy practitioners who support learner involvement
- National, state, and local policy-makers
They come to discuss key challenges and developments in adult literacy, share promising practices, learn new skills, develop personal networks for support and innovation, and celebrate achievements.
This two-day conference spread over three days includes workshops, forums, meetings, social events, and networking opportunities.
Throughout their time together, participants learn, discuss, network, plan, and inspire one another to play a leadership role in helping others in their literacy programs, in their communities, in their state, and around the country.
The energy generated from this event is amazing!

If you have a student leadership workshop that you would like to present at this year's Institute, please submit a detailed description using this form.
Workshop proposals must be submitted by March 22, 2013
Your ad or message of support in the conference program booklet
will be seen by adult learner leaders and literacy practitioners
from around the country -
both by those attend this Institute and by others who look at it online.

The Board is elected by the members of VALUEUSA.
You can nominate yourself or someone else to be on the Board as long as the nominee agrees to meet all nine qualifications throughout their term on the Board.

The Susan D. Green Memorial Award
The Susan D. Green Memorial Award is given out every two years at VALUEUSA's Leadership Institute to recognize an outstanding adult learner leader who, like Susan Green:
- sees the best in other people
- reaches out to help others
- is a leader in adult literacy
